Abstract:

IN THIS PAPER, WE CONSIDER SOME RELIABILITY PROPERTIES OF A COHERENT SYSTEM WITH A SINGLE COLD STANDBY COMPONENT. IT IS ASSUMED THAT THE COMPONENTS LIFETIMES OF THE SYSTEM ARE INDEPENDENT AND IDENTICALLY DISTRIBUTED (I.I.D.) RANDOM VARIABLES. WE ALSO ASSUME THAT THE STANDBY COMPONENT IS INDEPENDENT OF THE ACTIVE COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM. USING THE CONCEPT OF SYSTEM SIGNATURE DEFINED BY SAMANIEGO (1985), SOME EXPRESSIONS FOR THE RELIABILITY AND THE MEAN RESIDUAL LIFE (MRL) FUNCTIONS OF THE SYSTEM ARE GIVEN.ALSO SOME STOCHASTIC ORDERING RESULTS AND ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES ARE PROVIDED. THESE EXTEND SOME RESULTS IN ERYILMAZ (2012) FOR A K -OUT-OF- N SYSTEM.

IN THIS PAPER WE INTRODUCE A CLASS OF CONTINUOUS FRAMES IN A HILBERT SPACE H WHICH IS INDEXED BY SOME LOCALLY COMPACT GROUP G, EQUIPPED WITH ITS LEFT HAAR MEASURE. THESE FRAMES ARE OBTAINED AS THE ORBITS OF A SINGLE ELEMENT OF HILBERT SPACE H UNDER SOME UNITARY REPRESENTATION P OF G ON H.

Abstract:

IN THIS PAPER WE CONSIDER STRESS-STRENGTH MODELING FOR CALCULATING OF THE STRESSSTRENGTH RELIABILITY OF A COHERENT SYSTEM WHICH IS REPRESENTED AS A FUNCTION OF THESTRESS-STRENGTH RELIABILITIES OF ITS COMPONENTS. THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS MAY EXPERIENCE THE SAME OR DIFFERENT STRESS LEVELS. WE ALSO POINT OUT A MISTAKE RESULT GIVEN BYBHATTACHARYA AND ROYCHOWDHURY (2013) WHEN THE COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM ARE SUBJECTED TO A COMMON STRESS LEVEL.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to define an abstract quantale framework for extending some properties of the zip rings (studied by Faith, Zelmanowitz, etc.) and the weak zip rings (defined by Ouyang). By taking as prototype the quantale of ideals of a zip ring (resp. a weak zip ring) we introduce the notion of zipped quantale (resp. weakly zipped quantale). The zipped quantales also generalize the zipped frames, defined by Dube and Blose in a recent paper. We define the zip (bounded distributive) lattices and we prove that a coherent quantale A is weakly zipped iff the reticulation L(A) of A is a zip lattice. From this result we obtain the following corollary: the coherent quantale A is weakly zipped iff the frame R(A) of the radical elements of A is zipped. Such theorems allow us to extend to quantale framework a lot of results obtained by Dube and Blose for the zipped frames and for the weak zip rings.

Abstract:

Statistical Shape Models are used to interpret shapes. They include mean and variance of corresponding points of training shapes. One of the most important challenges in building statistical shape models is to establish correct correspondences among landmarks in a training set. In this paper, the non-rigid CPD (Coherent Point Drift) method is used to find correct correspondences among points. This method uses both Deterministic Annealing and a non-rigid scheme to register two shapes simultaneously. Then, the statistical shape model is built using a rigid transformation. The proposed method is evaluated using Compactness, Generalization ability and Specificity measures. The built model is compared to models created using the ICP (Iterative Closest Point), TPS-RPM (Thin Plate Spline – Robust Point Matching) and MDL (Minimum Descreption Length) methods by these metrics. The results show that the proposed method performs like the MDL regarding Specificity measure (0.21±0.06). The Compactness and Generalization ability measures of the proposed method are very similar to those for the MDL method. The run-time of our proposed method is about 68 seconds which is faster than non-rigid TPS-RPM and MDL approaches (390 and 3600 seconds respectively). Our results are superior to the ICP and TPS-RPM algorithms.

Abstract:

THIS ARTICLE CONSIDERS THE MEAN RESIDUAL LIFE (MRL) FUNCTION OF A COHERENT SYSTEMWHEN THE NUMBER OF FAILED COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM IS KNOWN. WE ASSUME THAT THELIFETIMES OF THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS ARE INDEPENDENT AND IDENTICALLY DISTRIBUTED (IID)RANDOM VARIABLES AND SHOW THAT WHEN THE COMPONENTS OF THE SYSTEM HAVE INCREASING(DECREASING) FAILURE RATE, THAT IS IFR (DFR), THE MRL FUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM IS DECREASING (INCREASING) IN TIME. SAME PROPERTY FOR K -OUT-OF- N SYSTEMS WITH INDEPENDENTBUT NOT IDENTICAL (INID) COMPONENTS IS ALSO SHOWN WHEN THE FAILED COMPONENTS OF THESYSTEM ARE KNOWN, EXTENDING SOME RESULTS IN LITERATURES.

Abstract:

The time evaluation of quantum entropy in a four-level double- L type atomic system is theoretically investigated. Quantum entanglement of the atom and its spontaneous emission fields is then discussed via quantum entropy. It is found that the degree of entanglement can be increased by the quantum interference induced by spontaneous emission. The phase dependence of the atom-field entanglement is also presented.

Abstract:

In recent years, low-power transceivers have found wide applications in medical engineering. In this paper, the system design and simulation of a low-power implantable receiver are presented for the case of stimulating brain cells. The receiver shows a high data rate in the industrial scientific and medical (ISM) band for being used in a bidirectional wireless full-duplex link and communication between the implanted system and the outside world. The proposed receiver has a non-coherent structure and operates at a frequency of 2. 4 GHz with on-off keying (OOK) modulation. This receiver has a bit error rate (BER) of less than 0. 001 and a data rate of 100 Mbps. The simulation results of the proposed circuit show a 26. 4 dB gain (S21), a-39 dB input return loss (S11) and a 5. 22 dB noise figure (NF). The simulation results are in good agreement with the analytical calculations.
